THE IMPORTANT OF NEUROPHYSIOLOGY EXAMINATION IN DIAGNOSING SEGMENTAL ZOSTER PARESIS: CASE REPORT

Background: Segmental zoster paresis (SZP) is a very uncommon complication characterized by localized weakening of the upper or lower limbs. Case report: A 69-year-old man came with complaints weakness in right leg two months ago. He had his after days having herpes on leg. There was paresthesia and hypesthesia neurological examination according to L1-L3 dermatome. Neurophysiology revealed neuropathy femoral nerve. Discussion: Varicella-zoster virus, being neurotrophic primarily invades incubates dorsal root cerebral ganglion nerve cells. Etiological investigations SZP patients have that anterior most prevalent location inflammation degeneration. Conclusion: rare following VZV infection can lead misdiagnosis overtreatment clinical practice. The neurophysiological important diagnosing segmental paresis.
